Paying the Price??

Well, if you don't know by now, the QPR Season Ticket prices have today been released with what is a HUGE increase. I can only speak personally, but me and the gang sit in the Upper Loft, which is now being classed as a 'GOLD' season ticket area.

I, along with most fans expected an increase and we were being assured by the new investors, that they would be minimal - this wasn't just a rumour, this came from the QPR AGM a month or so ago. In saying that, they also said that about the new badge?!? However, I find an increase of £200 for my seat, a rise of 50%, totally disgusting!!

Over the past few weeks, we have continually heard the 'New Era' thing coming from the club, but do they mean 'New Fans' as well? Gone are the early bird prices to encourage fans to buy early at a discount price. Instead, us loyal fans who have held season tickets for numbers of years, have just 3 weeks to pay, else your seat will be released.

I could continue to write about this, but fear that the article will resemble War and Peace when I have finished. But in summary, QPR have kicked all of the their loyal fans that have stood by this club in its darkest days, firmly in the privates with this price hike.

It's not all bad though, with the extra money, we will now have our name put on our seats at no further cost... Fantastic!!

Thank You QPR!

You are so right, no thought towards the fans at all, just a big swift kick where the sun don't shine.

This sure is a new era at QPR, we are now being mugged by millionaires!!!!!

PK, that is what worries me the most. QPR is a major part of my life and would be a HUGE gap to fill. But I would like to have the choice to give it up, not be forced too!!!

Whenwe were told about the price increases we were told to expect about 10%, but to go and hike it upto 50%, for the 2nd time in 3years may i add, is an absolute joke!
Yes we are entering a new era, yes we have much more to look forward to these days but dont us loyal fans, who have stuck with the club through the darkest days and put our hands in our pockets when the buckets came out to help keep the club running, deserve a little bit more than a thank you and then be told we have to pay an extra £200 and only have 3weeks to pay it otherwise we'll sell your ticket to some rich prawn sandwitch eating wally who knows nothing about our club. Lets hope common sense prevails!

    Well said Lofty.

I'm 16 years old.. My season ticket has just gone from £70 to £400!!!

    How can I afford this?

QPR are doing their upmost to kick loyal fans like us out!!

    DISGRACEFUL.

Nik, I spoke about my personal feelings, but that is nothing when you see the increase you will have to bear! That is more than a 300% increase for you!!

    An utter disgrace!!

    It's an absolute joke.

The fact we were told by the men themselves that the increase would only be a small amount, and the small amount of time existing ST holders have to renew show just little they care about our existing fanbase.

I dread to think of the prices next season IF we do get promoted.

    Prawn sandwich anyone?!

i think its discustin i pay for 2 season tickets and thats a lot without them going up makes me angry there driving the real fans away who have been there for years is that what they really want coz thats whats gonna happen in the end i know about 10 friends of mine that wont be going any more due to prices its not on SORT IT OUT!!

I'm 17 years old, my season ticket was £70 before, now it's gone up to £400, it's disgraceful! How the hell do QPR think a 17 year old boy can afford that?!...

What are the new owners singing?... "Loyal fans your having a laugh?"... Infact there is many loyal fans! Grrr... Robbed by the millionaires!

Plain and simple, as much as I love QPR I wont be able to afford my season ticket because of the prices so for that reason they have lost a Loyal fan and also a young ranger...

Ok, I will always bleed blue and white but it wont be often that I can support my team on a match day simply because of the prices.

I dont see why WE the fans should have to pay an extra £200 because they have chosen to refurb the club, change the badge etc.. we go for the football, not the 'padded' seats, the tacky names on chairs, the restaurants, we dont want that!

We go to watch our beloved Rangers.. week in week out, travel the lengths of the country.. and for what... an extra £200!
And still they have the cheek to ask us to PAY for them to deliver it!!

    Disgraceful

Totally agree with you Lofty, the prices are an absolute disgrace.
Kicking the REAL fans out of the club they love.

I think its clear to all now, that it isnt the fans interest they care about at all, its their wallets.

    IIIIIII DDDDDOONNTT BBBEEELLLIIIIIIEEEEEVVEEE IITT

Football club closed and relocated to Wanksville in less than 24 hours!!!!!!!!

Decent and passionate manager runs a mile rather than associate himself with this disgrace. Does not want fans to cheer his name as he knows what is coming!

I have never spoken up, I’ve been a loyal fan for years, and always shown restraint. But never, ever again!

Taken over my a fat bloke having a mid life crisis because his french cars are swit (does anyone understand what the buck he says!). Old Chelski supporter who has a height complex. Rich billy no mates with 100+ hangers-on in Matalan clobber that makes the Waltons family look smart!

And why is there some ugly bwat on our programme pretending he loves football and poor people- with his only claim to fame being that he married a rich blokes daughter.

Now the rest of you may believe the hype! You may listen to the blobs that they have paid to reason on message boards but make no mistake, this is Thatcherism in its worse form!

The revolution starts here. I will not renew my season ticket, I will never sing my heart out for the club anymore, and I will not bring my kids up to naively follow this money making machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if you sack this Ali idiot, admit there’s been a massive mistake, and give loyal supporters some respect than I might just bring myself to forgive you. Otherwise come on you Super Hoops AFC.

SEASON TICKET PRICES AN ABSOLUTE JOKE.
for years ive stood in PU upper loft (restricted view area) and have met so many great people, but im being forced to either move away or not go altogther. £200 increase for a restricted view seat is ridiculous, also its not like we where challenging for promotion last season or even got promoted, then i could maybe stomach such an increase.
my best mate used to bring his 3yr old son, but now he cant go unless he moves seat or pay £20 :o for him. also i find a joke aswell is now the club are charging us £5 to get our season tickets delivered.

No wonder rich people are rich! It's scandalous!

I won't be able to get a Season Ticket this year now because of the prices which is such a shame, it took me all day to calm down yesterday when I found out the price increases and I don't get angry very easily!

Looks like I'll only be going to a few selective home games, a couple of away games and if I feel like I'm getting withdrawl symptons from watching live football, I'm gong to have to watch Hemel Hempstead Town! I think they would appreciate my support more than QPR appear to now!

Those of us who have stood by QPR throughout the dark years of the last ten years or so have been treated with contempt by the owners. It's not so much the price increases, it's the fact that they are offering NO discount for existing ST holders, thereby treating us the same as any 'johnny come lately' jumping on the bandwagon. Do they have no sense of loyalty towards those of us who have kept this team going?

Can I suggest we all have the message "I'VE BEEN ROBBED" put on our free seat labels.....maybe a way to put the point across that we aint happy!

im disgusted at the price jump, what makes it worse is my seat is the in GOLD area when i have a pole in the way so i have a restricted view.... yet my season ticket went up £200!!!
Just become a parent at that extra £200 is a joke!!!
Yet i feel we are being priced out of QPR and if the season ticket is not renwed i have a feeling thats the last time i would ever see QPR again!

I think its a total disgrace and extra £200 for my season ticket as my seat is in the GOLD area.... yet i have a post in the way and have resiricted view!!
Ive just become a parent and that extra £200 would come in very handy for the baby, yet i feel as if i do not renew my season ticket that would prob be the last I see of QPR.
Its a total joke, why do we have to pay for them to send out the season tickets too?
This new era is costing the fans and that angers me!

Agree 100% with the blog and the subsequent comments. No early bird discount, 3 weeks to pay up, fobbed off by "loyalty points" and a name plate on our seats. No reciprocation of the loyalty we, the QPR SUPPORTERS not mere fans, have shown over the years. My blood is boiling - as a single parent who forks out a significant part of my sole disposable income on my beloved club - I now have to find an extra £298 for mine and my daughter's season tickets. Cheers QPR - you've made my summer.

What annoys me most is that going forward, my whole matchday experience will have changed because some of the people I love to meet up with at matches are just not going to be able to afford to attend on a regular basis. This price rise will rip the heart and soul out of the QPR family. Well done.

    Lofty

    Club Shop Re fit 20k
New catering for corporate guest 5k
    Re launch club badge 35k
Name on back of seat £200
Every thing else priced out of our reach,
    Senseless.

The club has been taken over by business men it is down to sales they are saying seasons tickets are in high demand (B***S**T) .
They want every one to think it’s going to sell out.
We could all say stick ST and become members & buy as and when it will cost you £4 per game more to do it that way. And there will be seat lots of them,

Has anyone thought about the AOP's who have supported the Rangers for many years - 66% price hike will ensure that only one of a couple will be able to go from now on.

Mine season ticket would be Gold in PU and I'm stood behind a metal post so thats restricted view and I have to fork over how much??

    New fans??? Multi-millionaires?

Which unless I win the lottery in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be struggling to afford it and love my football club and want to be at every home game but I'm afraid next season I won't.

Heaven forbid what the prices will be if we get promoted to the Premiership!!!

We are turning into Chelsea with them prices...I know loads of people who were priced out at Chelsea, and we are joining them people.

i sit in upperloft to and its absolutely disgusting that its doubled in price!! im a student and am pretty skint as it is, clever move rangers. another great way to lose loyal fans

Where I sit in the Ellerslie Road Stand there are a lot of OAP's - I'm in my forties myself. They are clearly trying to price out the OAP's so that they get younger people coming in paying the higher prices at £600/£700.

The fans that are lost will be compensated by those that are paying the higher prices and when the club starts doing well, which it will, they will then get younger people who are able to afford the higher prices.

They obviously haven't considered the trouble that could occur when we are promoted and playing bigger clubs and because we won't have a lot of season ticket holders, the tickets will be snapped up by away fans who will be sitting in with he home fans - Just like years ago with Chelsea,Manu, etc taking over the ground - It could get Nasty.

Still the board can all look down on us like Caesars.

  • At 7:13 pm, Anonymous Anonymous said…

I agree with everything thats been said.

I too sit in PU,where i've been since the stand was built but have a post in my way when the ball goes down the Ellerslie Road stand.I am refusing to pay for this seat so will need to move to another part of the ground now,i can't even do that now as i need to wait till after the deadline in early June to see what seats are available.

I am grateful that Flavio,Bernie and Mittal have come in to save us but this is a real kick in the teeth for the loyal fans that followed the team in Division 1.We ain't a Premiership team,we are just a lower Championship side at the moment.
I wouldn't have minded a 10% rise but to £599 is just unbelievable.

    Michael.
